Work progresses on the historic Schwartz building at 602 Congress Street in Portland, ME, bringing back the historic elements of this Portland landmark.
Under the guidance of Shinberg Consulting, the building is receiving a complete structural overhaul and is scheduled to reopen in summer 2022.
The building consists of retail space on the ground floor and 12 apartments above, all being completely renovated.
The retail space faces the corner of High Street and Congress street, with 16' ceilings and large windows on both sides.
The apartments above will have new heating and cooling systems, energy efficient lighting, a new elevator and new insulation.
